Description
Morse Micro is redefining wireless connectivity with next-generation Wi‑Fi HaLow (IEEE 802.11ah) technology. As Australia’s largest fabless semiconductor company, we’re building ultra‑efficient chips that power tomorrow’s IoT landscape through extended range, low power consumption and high performance. You’ll be part of a global team collaborating across Australia, the US, India, the UK, China, Taiwan, and Japan. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer for our platform team who will be central to the deployment, monitoring, performance, and reliability of our AWS, GCP deployments and will collaborate closely with backend engineers, mobile app and network/device engineers. Responsibilities Include Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines across development, staging, and production environments. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using CloudFormation, Bash, and related DevOps tooling. Manage and optimise AWS infrastructure for cost efficiency, high performance, and scalability. Deploy, secure, and maintain containerised applications using Docker and best practices for isolation and permissions. Implement and tune monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure visibility and reduce alert noise. Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and autoscaling across microservices and cloud components. Build and optimise cloud networking and connectivity infrastructure, including VPCs, load balancers, VPNs, and streaming systems. Harden and maintain database clusters and cloud resources with strong security and compliance standards. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to performance, scaling, connectivity, and service reliability. Qualifications / Experience / Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. Proven experience as a DevOps/Platform/Infrastructure engineer deploying production microservices at scale. Solid programming/scripting skills: Python and/or Node.js (you’ll collaborate with dev teams using these). Experience with front-end developer frameworks (TypeScript/Angular) or working in teams with these technologies. Strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack, networking fundamentals (routing, switching, subnets, VPNs, NAT, firewalls), as device connectivity/streaming is central. Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm or similar) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP or equivalent). Hands-on with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, etc). Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) experience. Monitoring and logging experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog etc). Solid understanding of security best practices, encryption, identity, access management, zero-trust principles. Experience with streaming or real-time data systems (ideally familiarity with video streams, device telemetry, push notifications) is a plus. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment. Good communication skills – able to work across teams (backend, frontend/mobile, device/hardware) and influence operational excellence.
