EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline (or AQF-recognized equivalent).
  • Master’s degree in Project Management or related discipline (desirable).

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3+ years of industry experience in DevOps, site reliability, or cloud engineering roles across enterprise environments.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Familiarity with incident response protocols and system recovery practices
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience in platform stability improvement and automation-driven infrastructure delivery
  • Working knowledge of SDLC from a DevOps support perspective
  • Experience working in high-compliance sectors (e.g., financial services, healthcare, government)

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Nexus Division is seeking a proactive and technically sound DevOps Engineer to join our digital infrastructure and platform delivery division. This role supports the deployment, scaling, monitoring, and automation of enterprise-grade systems across diverse client engagements.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation practices in cloud environments, working across development, testing, and operations teams to enable reliable and scalable technology delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Build and maintain automated pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent tools to streamline application release cycles.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, manage, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools across cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Containerisation & Orchestration: Utilize Docker and Kubernetes to enable scalable, portable deployments across multiple environments.
  • Cloud Engineering: Support cloud deployment and environment management (primarily AWS or Azure), ensuring high availability and cost efficiency.
  • Monitoring & Incident Management: Implement system monitoring, health checks, and logging tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with software developers, testers, and system admins to ensure smooth DevOps workflows across the SDLC.
  • Security & Compliance: Contribute to secure configuration, patch management, and DevSecOps alignment in high-compliance environments.
  • Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain shell/Python/Bash scripts to support automation tasks, configuration, and monitoring routines.
  • Documentation: Maintain configuration management records, deployment runbooks, and change control documentation.
