POSITION SUMMARY

OmniSync is a venture and government backed dual use SaaS company transforming the way public and private sectors innovate. OmniSync’s, TurboInnovate is an advanced market intelligence platform used to conduct rapid project-specific market research, generate novel technical insights, and competition landscape mapping; and now includes TurboSBIR’s ability to streamline startups’ access to $4B in Federal innovation funds. OmniSync is a recipient of eight federal innovation contracts, including SBIR Phase III commercialization contracts, and two subcontracts to prime contractors. Customers include the DoD, Fortune 100/500 companies, VCs, tech-transfer offices, and innovation seeking organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced, passionate pioneer in technology - a solutions builder, a roll-up-your-sleeves technologist who wants to thrive in a daily collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful, fast growing dual-use AI company. As a DevOps Engineer you will help lead under the direction of the CTO and Lead Engineer our data architecture initiatives and enable automation as we quickly scale our technology.
You will be responsible for the development, production, and ongoing maintenance of our products. You will manage cloud infrastructure, handle system administration tasks, and collaborate with various teams to identify and resolve issues as they arise. You must proactively meet standards for information security and compliance for FedRAMP. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with junior and senior engineers, project managers, executives, as well as administrative staff.
You should have an entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, tenacity, grit, and with the ability to thrive in the fast-paced, ever-changing environment of scaling startup. You will maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials and exercise a high level of discretion when interfacing with all aspects of the role and will represent OmniSync in a positive light through superior follow-through and sound judgment.
Due to our work with the U.S. Federal Government all candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Creating, managing, and maintaining Pipelines, Data Integrations, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for our CI/CD pipelines and associated product-based deployments.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS and Google) and handle system administration duties.
  • Implement highly scalable applications and integrate infrastructure builds with the application deployment process.
  • Design, analyze, and evaluate automation scripts and systems to improve operational workflows.
  • Assist in the design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures that meet business requirements.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance across all platforms.
  • Consult with leaders across the business to develop roadmaps with particular emphasis on insights that accelerate growth across all aspects of the business
  • Work with Agile methodologies to deliver projects on time while adapting to changing requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends in data architecture and recommend new tools or technologies as needed.
  • Perform other duties, research and special projects, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Machine Learning, Computer Science or related field.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies [e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, DevOps Leader (DOL), Certified Systems Administrator (LFCS), Red Hat Certified, Terraform Associate].
  • Certification in at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience working in software development with one or more of the following: Python, JavaScript, React, GraphQL, NextJS
  • Experience in working with back-end technologies and/or backend end frameworks: NodeJS, SQL, NoSQL
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple projects with various urgency and deadlines.
  • Keen organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • English fluency with exquisite written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience as an infrastructure lead with ATO (Authority to Operate) experience is a PLUS.
  • Experience with FedRAMP, Git, CI/CD Pipelines, and Quality gates automations.
  • Background in computer science, with a focus on data structures, algorithms, and API design.
  • Demonstrated ability to share knowledge via formal mentoring, reviewing code, reviewing design documents, providing technical talks, teaching classes, or as a consultant on projects.
  • Experience working with and managing external partners/customers.

Salary: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 USD; Depending on Experience

Hybrid: Must be able and willing to be in our office in San Diego, 92123 at least twice a week with additional days as needed for innovation-fostering collaborations.
