Join an award-winning team passionate about exceptional customer service! About the Role We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will be at the forefront of our technology evolution, helping us design, deliver, and maintain the high-quality cloud services that power our retail operations. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that acts as a bridge between technology and business, ensuring our information systems are secure, scalable, and always available. This is a unique opportunity to work with modern toolsets across on-prem and cloud environments while helping elevate our digital maturity through automation and agile methodologies. In this role, you will: Identify, participate in the design, and deliver cloud-based IT services that align with our technology vision and drive greater business performance. Maintain our security posture and compliance standards, ensuring all new software developments meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Adopt and encourage an agile approach to infrastructure, delivering quality systems that meet both commercial objectives and end-user needs. Liaise with internal stakeholders and the T&D group to provide expert guidance on cloud operations, maximising the availability of our critical systems. Manage and evolve our CI/CD pipelines, utilising tools like GitLab and ArgoCD to ensure seamless and continuous delivery. Monitor and optimise our cloud platforms, ensuring robust performance and security across our environments. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure our technology services are delivered on time and within budget. What we’re looking for: 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer. You should be highly proficient with Linux (Redhat/Ubuntu), CLI, and Shell Scripting. Strong working knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform and/or Kubernetes. Proven track record with GitLab, Gitflow, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery such as continuous Delivery tools like ArgoCD. Strong expertise in Azure, combined with hands-on experience using Terraform to drive infrastructure as code. Experience with OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud. Reasonable understanding of networking, including SDN network routing, network policies, and micro-segmentation. Experience with GCP or other cloud services is highly advantageous. Familiarity with WAF and Proxy services such as CloudFlare.
