Job Description Contract type: B2B (full remote) or permanent (local, hybrid mode) At Sopra Steria, we support large-scale digital transformation programs across Europe. We are looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our Container Orchestration Team, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade container platforms. You will work on modern cloud and on‑premise environments, supporting the full lifecycle of containerized applications. You will collaborate closely with architects, platform engineers, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and automated platforms. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, strong engineering practices, and a collaborative agile environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Platform & Software Development Design, develop, and maintain services supporting container platforms and cloud-native workloads. Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in line with Sopra Steria engineering standards. Participate in code reviews, ensuring quality through SonarQube and internal best practices (COSMOS). Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing services. Implement unit and integration tests to ensure safe deployments and continuous delivery. 2. Automation & CI/CD Design and implement automation using GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting. Automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes to improve operational efficiency. Contribute to GitOps-based approaches for application and platform deployments. 3. Container Platform Engineering Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of container orchestration platforms: Kubernetes OpenShift Amazon EKS Support application lifecycle management and platform reliability. Implement and maintain readiness and liveness probes. Work with Argo CD for continuous delivery and deployment automation. 4. Collaboration & Agile Practices Work closely with cross-functional teams (architects, system administrators, developers). Actively participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Engage in knowledge sharing and contribute to the team’s collective expertise. 5. Documentation Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for: Code Automation scripts Platform configurations Contribute to the squad’s technical knowledge base and operational documentation. Qualifications Technical Skills Strong experience with Python and JavaScript. Experience designing and developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks. Hands-on experience with: Kubernetes OpenShift Amazon EKS Solid understanding of: REST APIs JWT / OAuth2 fundamentals Git, GitLab, and CI/CD practices Container health checks (readiness & liveness probes) Nice to Have Experience with Nutanix and/or VMware. Exposure to software-defined networking and hybrid cloud environments. Basic understanding of enterprise infrastructure architectures. Experience 5 to 10 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar role. Proven experience working in Agile and collaborative environments. Demonstrated contribution to cloud-native platforms and automation initiatives. Soft Skills Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Team-oriented, collaborative, and solution-driven. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Language Requirements Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory. Knowledge of any additional European language is a plus.
