Mission
As a DevOps in our area you need to know a little about a great number of topics like operating systems, disk management, databases, networking, performance, load balancing, security, backups, disaster recovery, project management and configuration management.
An important part will be dealing with a LOT of people. A typical day will have you spending as much time with other people as with the applications you’re administering. Some of the roles you will encounter are: Users, Developers, Power Users, Product Owners, Application Administrators, DBAs, The Network team, The Security team, Help Desk.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes. As part of the technical team you are expected to contribute to this effort. A significant impact can be seen in documentation, best practices and process maturity.
Your day-to-day
Ensure availability, reliability and resilience for the systems/applications you are responsible of
Understand the need for security and apply it using the existing security framework.
Review risk controls, perform NPAs resets and reviews, vulnerability management, etc
Implement patching
Test application functionality in production after patches or promotes;
Perform disaster recovery
Involvement in capacity planning
Involvement in automation scripts: development, testing, maintenance;
Monitor system performance and take corrective actions where necessary;
Understand and assist in tracking and monitoring the services/applications, in order to implement new alerts;
Analyze and reduce TOIL
Document and implement external connections procedures
Define SLI/SLO, measure them and implement the improvements when needed
Production support, troubleshoot existing information in systems to identify errors or deficiencies;
Investigate errors and provide a solution/suggestion
Create documentation
Active participation in the knowledge sharing sessions, handover and learning sessions
Ideas, suggestions, feedback for improvements are welcome at all times; What you bring to the team
Automation mindset
Respond to critical incidents calmly, but effectively
Capable to meet deadlines
Understanding of key DevOps responsibilities and concepts
DevOps mindset
Experience with automation and CI/CD delivery using Azure DevOps
Ability to adapt to continuous and demanding security changes
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience in managing environments from development to production.
Ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Hands-on experience in process automation, technology efficiency and effectiveness
Excellent technical documentation skills
Positive attitude and oriented towards solving problems
The ability to give constructive feedback and openness to receive it as well
Knowledge of ITIL and Agile concepts
Knowledge of technologies dealing with containers
Experience with monitoring tools
Experience with Azure DevOps, Ansible, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Microsoft SQL Server.
