Your Role

You will become part of our infrastructure team and work with us to operate and further develop a stable, secure, and future-proof platform. Nobody here is expected to know everything or do everything alone – responsibilities are shared, we communicate frequently, and we contribute our individual strengths.

What You Can Expect

• Together with the team, you will operate and further develop our Kubernetes stack (Rancher, RKE, Ceph). Your area of focus – cluster operations, storage, or observability – will also depend on your interests.
• You will help us expand CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and support development teams in making their build, test, and release processes more robust.
• You will act as a technical sparring partner for application containerization with Docker and for architecture and operational questions, from development through to production clusters.
• Our infrastructure is based on two pillars: on-premises infrastructure, where we operate a data-center rack with networking components such as switches and firewalls and virtualization using Proxmox, and AWS, where central services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3 are operated. We continuously develop both environments together.
• Monitoring and logging using Checkmk, Grafana/Loki, and Datadog are managed collaboratively within the team. You will contribute to their further development and help make incident and problem management more proactive, including blameless postmortems.
• You will support the operation of our databases across multiple environments, including MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, covering backup, replication, and performance tuning.
• Deep expertise in all three database systems is not required – specialization in one area is welcome.
• Documentation, automation, and mentoring are also part of the role. We value these activities because we believe information should be easy to find and knowledge should remain within the team.

What You Bring

Must-Have

• Several years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or in a comparable role
• Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, and containers/Kubernetes
• Experience with physical infrastructure, including racks, switches, and firewalls, as well as virtualization technologies such as Proxmox
• Practical experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, for example GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Ansible
• A strong team-oriented approach, clear communication skills, and a pragmatic mindset
• Good spoken and written English
