PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on experience in Kubernetes cluster administration in production environments.
  • Strong background in Linux and Windows systems administration and containerization technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of networking, security, and storage in Kubernetes environments.
  • Proficient in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, or Go; Ansible/Terraform a plus).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GHA, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability stacks.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Experience or familiarity with Azure Cloud and AKS is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for an experienced Kubernetes Cluster Administrator to join our DevOps Infrastructure Team. This role is critical in designing, deploying, and maintaining a robust on-premises Kubernetes cluster that supports our CI/CD build farm and software development lifecycle, as well as Kubernetes expansion into Microsoft Azure, enabling cloud-native scalability and reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes clusters with high availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Manage container orchestration and lifecycle using Kubernetes, Helm, and other ecosystem tools.
  • Support and maintain CI/CD infrastructure including build agents, pipelines, and artifact repositories within Kubernetes.
  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, ELK, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with software development, SRE, and DevOps teams to enable seamless integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Plan and execute Kubernetes integration with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and hybrid cloud strategies.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance of containerized workloads.
  • Troubleshoot performance and stability issues across infrastructure and CI/CD components.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and handle production incidents and root cause analysis.
