About the role Within the Service Assurance unit of the Digital Technology organization, the DevOps Lead is responsible for managing and advancing DevOps practices for the Service Assurance (monitoring and observability) platforms. This role ensures the platforms are highly available, scalable, and efficiently maintained through automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment. About you Responsibilities: Lead DevOps Strategy and Implementation: Define and execute DevOps best practices for monitoring and observability platforms, including automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization. Manage CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and optimize continuous integration and deployment pipelines to enable rapid, reliable, and automated platform updates. Automate Infrastructure and Operations: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, scaling, monitoring, and incident response processes. Collaborate with other Engineering & Security Teams: Work closely with platform engineers, developers, and other stakeholders across wider Orange ecosystem to embed DevOps practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration and delivery. Ensure Platform Reliability and Scalability: Monitor platform health, optimize performance, and implement proactive measures to prevent outages and reduce downtime. Implement Security and Compliance: Integrate security best practices into DevOps workflows, ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards. Promote a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Foster a DevOps mindset within the team and across the organization, encouraging innovation, experimentation, and learning. Maintain Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document automation processes, deployment procedures, and platform configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity. Key Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in DevOps, automation, and platform management, ideally within large-scale or telecom environments. Strong expertise with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.). Thorough knowledge of monitoring tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience leading DevOps teams and driving cultural change. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
