About the role We are seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Manager to lead our efforts in scaling our systems and accelerating feature delivery. In this pivotal role, you will champion our DevOps practices, overseeing the entire CI/CD pipeline, driving infrastructure-as-code (IaC) adoption, and setting high standards for system reliability, security, and observability. You will also be responsible for managing a team of DevOps/SRE engineers and ensuring the team’s automation, monitoring, and tooling initiatives are effectively aligned with overall product and business goals. This is a key opportunity for someone passionate about fostering a collaborative, blameless, and high-performing engineering culture focused on operational excellence across all environments. What you'll do People Management: Lead and mentor a team of SREs, providing guidance, performance feedback, and career development support. Collaborate: Bridge the gap between development and operations teams to drive rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery. Incident and Crisis Management: Be the calm, empathetic voice in the storm while driving decisive leadership to ensure fast, quality resolution. Develop and manage incident response processes. Monitoring and Observability: ensure we have the appropriate abilities to oversee and leverage monitoring, tracing, and logging tools to quickly diagnose root cause while having an effective continuous insight to overall operations and risk. Pipeline Operations: Ensure automated builds, tests, and deployments are running successfully. Troubleshooting failed deployments or builds and directing the team on fixes. Continuously track and improve the developer’s experience and ensure the best strategic fit for our overall pipeline. Cost Management: Monitor cloud usage and resources to optimize infrastructure costs without compromising performance or reliability. Key Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), such as deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery (MTTR), and planning continuous improvement initiatives based on the data. Create and maintain metrics and reporting performance dashboards, logs, and monitoring alerts to proactively identify and address issues related to system reliability, scalability, and security. Incident Avoidance: Enable blameless post mortems (PIRs) and focus on the root cause and continuous improvements translating lessons learned into concrete, prioritized engineering work to improve the overall operating environment and architecture. What you bring Proven experience as a DevOps Manager, ideally in a fast paced startup or growth company environment with experience creating DevOps from the ground up. Strong hands-on experience with: GitHub (version control) GitHub Actions (CI orchestration) DataDog (Logging, alerting, and instrumentation) Google Cloud Build (build orchestration and image management) Docker (containerization) Nx Cloud (Artifact caching and build orchestration) CodeCov, Jest, Jacoco, Junit, Playwright (Code coverage and testing frameworks) Google Cloud Platform Cloud Tasks Container Registry Cloud Run Services Cloud Sql / Cloud Spanner Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, with a focus on professional growth and team success. Strong understanding of DevOps architecture, design patterns, and best practices. Expertise in DevOps processes, experience creating and maintaining these processes, and experience with Kaizen, Six Sigma, ITIL or other quality systems and frameworks is a plus. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication: The ability to break down silos and foster a culture of open communication and shared responsibility between development, operations, QA, and security teams. Team Leadership and Mentoring: Experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team of DevOps/Platform engineers, setting technical direction, and driving performance. Strategic Planning and Alignment: The capacity to define and execute a comprehensive DevOps strategy that aligns with the organization's overarching business goals for speed, quality, and cost optimization. Change Agent: The skill to drive cultural change, manage resistance, and champion continuous improvement in processes and technology adoption across the organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions. Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
