Job Summary As a DevSecOps Engineer at Fortem, you will be responsible for maintaining the infrastructure, tools, processes, and cyber security infrastructure necessary to support our software engineering teams and products. As such, you will be the primary cyber interface to Fortem’s DOD customer base. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting an end-to-end suite of automated test tools and solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth deployment and operation of our applications, while also working on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our DevSecOps practices. This role will work to effectively maintain software development systems and to increase the overall efficiency and security of software releases. Primary Responsibilities: Support the engineering teams with application configuration for deployment, monitoring, and other automation for regular software deployments and releases Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to automate, simplify and improve operational tasks and software testing Identify and implement process improvements and process automation Implement and enforce cyber security best practice and ensure compliance with industry and government standards Monitor and respond to outages for critical services and applications Develop and maintain documentation Requirements Education and Required Skills/Experience: BS degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, system administration, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in cyber security and certification in one of the following strongly desired (Security+, CEH, or GSEC). 3+ years of demonstratable hands-on Linux experience• Must have experience implementing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and familiarity with the controls and tools required to obtain and maintain a DOD Authority to Operate. Desired Skills/Experience: Experience or basic knowledge/understanding of the following: Web servers (Nginx), scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, Ansible, PHP, or Node.js Expertise with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitLab, AWS, Artemis) Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes) Understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure best practices Implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution scans In-depth knowledge of automation tools Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Strong communication and collaboration skills About You: An experienced DevSecOps Engineer with a passion for solving difficult problems Enjoy taking initiative and working with multidisciplinary teams Ability to communicate technical concepts & details effectively Ability to work in a small and fast-paced environment A positive attitude, team-oriented spirit, and enthusiasm for our goals A curious outlook - willingness to learn new things and solutions to fit the problem A strong sense of ownership and passion for completing a job well - attention to detail Ability to work well with all levels of the company regardless of seniority A willingness to work on what is necessary over what is desired
