We are on the lookout for a skilled DevSecOps Engineer to fortify our infrastructure and security posture, ensuring our applications remain reliable and secure. Job Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain DevSecOps programs to support Valer’s growing infrastructure and security needs. Develop and extend a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline for automated code testing and deployments. Champion and implement modern DevSecOps tools and technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.) Utilize monitoring and logging tools to create a platform monitoring dashboard. Create detailed technical documentation for system architecture, pipelines, security processes, and deployment instructions to ensure knowledge transfer and audit readiness. Understand stringent healthcare compliance rules and implement advanced security tools and practices. Coordinate with software engineering teams to plan major releases. Assist with configuring and maintaining secure networks. Technology Stack: UI/UX: Angular, React Web Services: Nginx, Node.js API/Server: Python, Flask Database: PostgreSQL Platform: Linux Debian Must have: 5+ years in a production DevOps / Infrastructure role supporting modern software deployments. 5+ years administering and configuring Linux systems. 3+ years developing in Python for tooling and automation. Experience with Jenkins in building and extending CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Experience partnering with and guiding software teams on production best practices (deployment safety, reliability, observability). Experience building monitoring dashboards and alerting systems (e.g. Grafana, Site24x7, Wazuh). Experience with hybrid deployments, including on-prem/bare-metal Linux, virtualized machines (Proxmox), and containerized stacks (e.g. Docker). Experience implementing security and compliance controls in infrastructure and delivery pipelines (policy checks, secrets management, approvals/exceptions, auditability). Experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud-native tooling. Strong experience or understanding of secure networking (VPNs, firewalls, SSH, SFTP, certificates, etc.) Ideal candidate will be: Have experience working in the healthcare industry; familiarity with HIPAA and HITRUST. Familiar with relational databases (PostgreSQL). Participated in or orchestrated large cloud migrations of applications and data. Highly reliable and capable of implementing robust solutions with auditability. Candidates must be in the Los Angeles or Orange County area of Southern California. The position is currently remote, but with plans to transition to Hybrid.
