KBR is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented, results-driven DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join our team to deliver an Enterprise Management solution for Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and revolutionize the way the DoD delivers software. The scope and seniority of the role will be determined by the relevant experience and demonstrated mastery of the applicant. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure).
  • Automate cloud resource rollout using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security best practices (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Help with release management and deployment of microservices in a Kubernetes environment (AWS EKS, Azure AKS).
  • Maintain and enhance helm charts for deployment of Docker-based microservices
  • Enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack.
  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards and frameworks (NIST 800-171).
  • Help with vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, and incident response automation.
  • Work with developers to implement secure coding practices and application security testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud costs, security, and performance.
  • Develop documentation and training materials to promote DevSecOps culture across the organization.
