(MTSI) is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented, results-driven DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join our team to deliver an Enterprise Management solution for Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and revolutionize the way the DoD delivers software. The scope and seniority of the role will be determined by the relevant experience and demonstrated mastery of the applicant. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure). Automate cloud resource rollout using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with security best practices (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD). Help with release management and deployment of microservices in a Kubernetes environment (AWS EKS, Azure AKS). Maintain and enhance helm charts for deployment of Docker-based microservices Enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack. Ensure compliance with industry security standards and frameworks (NIST 800-171). Help with vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, and incident response automation. Work with developers to implement secure coding practices and application security testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud costs, security, and performance. Develop documentation and training materials to promote DevSecOps culture across the organization. Work Environment: Location: On-site Travel Requirements: Minimal Working Hours: Standard Qualifications: Required: Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Security, or Infrastructure Engineering. Proficiency with cloud security best practices. Proficiency with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles and tools Proficiency with administering Linux-based operating systems. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash). Proficiency with git-based development workflows and pipelines. Experience with security tools such as SAST, DAST, SIEM, and IDS/IPS. Proficient working in Agile teams and associated tools (JIRA, etc.) Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Desired: Top Secret clearance Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Golang, JavaScript Knowledge of SQL and experience with database management Knowledge of IAM, RBAC, and Zero Trust security models. Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, OSCP, AWS/Azure Security). Experience with serverless architectures and microservices security. Experience working in air-gapped environments (IL6) Familiarity with software supply chain security (SBOM, Dependency Scanning). Familiarity with security testing methodologies and tools, such as vulnerability scanning and penetration testing Familiarity with SATCOM, spectral processing and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) Basic Compensation: The pay range for this position in Colorado is $115,000/year to $150,000/year; and in California is $125,000/year to $160,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
