POSITION SUMMARY

The Stewarding Attendant is responsible for operating all dishwashing equipment to sanitize kitchen tools, glassware, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. They are also responsible for the prepare and set-up the glass and silverware for banquet functions as required.

  • Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Experience in a hotel or related field an asset
  • Current sanitation certificate an asset
  • Must be at least 15 years of age

Responsibilities
  • Washes all dishes, pots, pans, glasses and cutlery according to Deerhurst Resort standards and hand wash pots and pans as needed

  • Operates the dish machine in the prescribed manner

  • Thoroughly cleans and washes all kitchen equipment, stewarding storage rooms, hallways, machines, floors
  • Completes daily dishwashing machine audits and test strip reading as required
  • Follows all sanitation standards
  • Re-stocks all clean equipment, pots, pans, etc. in designated area
  • Reports any faulty equipment immediately to leader
  • Monitors breakage to ensure damage is kept to an absolute minimum
  • Daily monitors of chemical consumption to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiency
  • Daily checks of Banquet Event Order’s to ensure all guests expectations are met
  • Counts inventory on a quarterly basis as directed
  • Ensures daily cleanliness of compactor area
  • Ensures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
  • Comfortable making decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving
  • Follows all resort health and safety requirements; personal protective equipment and safe work procedures
  • Participates in all department meetings and training programs
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
