QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
  • College Diploma in Medical or Office Administration preferred

SKILL, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Intermediate level proficiency using the MS Office Suite of products required
  • Accurate Computer keyboarding skills required
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology required
  • Recent experience in Diagnostic Imaging Booking preferred
  • Experience with Oracle scheduling order entry and patient registration preferred
  • Knowledge of radiology processes and procedures preferred
  • Experience in booking appointments and maintaining schedules preferred
  • Experience in screening clients for exam/program eligibility preferred
  • Experience in Integrated Client Management Scheduling (ICMS) preferred
Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Completes registration, reception and clerical tasks applicable to the needs of the department
  • Validates exam eligibility prior to booking patient appointments
  • Provides exam preparation instructions and ensures patient comprehension
  • Processes Release of Information requests, within confidentiality guidelines, for diagnostic images, including CD burning & issuing
  • Maintains booking/program files and related materials
  • Communicates and interacts daily with Imaging Staff, Radiologists, Billing Office & other internal and external customers
  • Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
  • Other related duties as assigned
