Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing diagnostic procedures using advance magnetic resonance imaging techniques, receives and counsel’s patients on procedural exams, and oversees the use of various types of emergency and medical equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Applicants must have current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and specialized certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. You MUST submit a copy of your license or certification with your application package

• Performs magnetic resonance imaging of head, spine, extremities, and body.
• Receives patients, explains method of procedure, positions patients, counsels patients regarding the risks/benefits of the procedure and produces images necessary for the examination requested.
• Monitors scanner and computers for any malfunction so corrective actions can be taken
• Maintains proper supply levels and notifies appropriate individuals if supplies need to be ordered so that there is no hindrance to patient care
• Assists in the triage of scheduling patients
