Zoox is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, diagnostic system engineer to join the System Engineering Integration Department. As a Diagnostic Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing diagnostic capabilities for advanced autonomous vehicle hardware, including lidars, radars, cameras, and high-performance computing platforms. You will be responsible for defining system-level diagnostic requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging diagnostic data to enhance system stability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive diagnostics development.
- Proficiency in vehicle communication networks such as Ethernet, CAN, and LIN.
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostic standards, including ISO 14229 (UDS) and ISO 13400 (DoIP).
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as CANdela, CANalyzer, and Wireshark.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with requirement management tools such as Polarion, Jama or similar.
- Ability to read and understand C++ and Python to assess current diagnostic system implementations.
- Familiarity with vehicle network architecture and electrical schematics.
- Ability to analyze and interpret diagnostic logs.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using SQL or other database query languages to create diagnostic dashboards.
- Knowledge of Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics.
- Experience in system development for autonomous vehicles.
- Experience with diagnostics development for lidars, radars, sensors and high-performance computers.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $191,000 to $249,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
