Job Summary The Diagnostic Technician is responsible for inspecting vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify, explain, and resolve complex technical faults. This role works closely with service advisors, technicians, and customer-facing teams to plan effective repairs, ensure first-time fix quality, and maintain high customer and brand satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose complex electronic and mechanical systems as instructed by the Service Advisor, including customer-present diagnostics when required. • Ensure customer complaints are clearly identified, corrected, and documented with detailed comments and quotations. • Perform complete vehicle inspections using VDS testers and guided fault-finding programs to reach accurate solutions. • Review vehicle history, service records, and related data prior to diagnosis and repair. • Communicate with Parts Advisors, Team Leaders, and Workshop Controllers to ensure correct parts ordering and workflow. • Stay updated with factory technical bulletins and manufacturer guidelines. • Highlight and address all pending technical and warranty campaigns for MG vehicles. • Differentiate between operational characteristics, system behavior, and genuine technical faults. • Diagnose and resolve networking, distributed functions, and vehicle communication system issues. • Maintain and control inventory of special diagnostic tools. • Ensure warranty procedures and guidelines are followed in coordination with the Warranty team. • Prepare technical reports and documentation whenever required. • Report any quality concerns identified on new vehicles. • Maintain a professional attitude, appearance, and a clean, organized work area at all times. • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and workshop regulations. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Master Technician. Requirements • High Diploma in Mechanics • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role • Background as Automotive Senior Mechanic, Electrician, or Automotive Mechatronics Engineer • Fluency in English is essential, Arabic is preferred. • Computer literate • Strong communication and teamwork skills This role is critical in ensuring accurate diagnostics, reducing repeat repairs, and maintaining high workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
