UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a full-time Diagnostic Technologist for Tri-Rivers in Butler. This position does require travel to the Mars location. This position will work 4, 9.5-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with one set day off during the week after successful completion of the orientation period. Purpose: Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities: Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I. Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable. Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. Assist with the training of staff and student technologists. Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. 2 years Diagnostic experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
