Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging procedures independently, using your expertise and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
  • Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols during procedures.
  • Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
  • Document patient history in electronic records as required.
  • Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy.
  • Ensure all exams are correctly coded, tracked, and networked for archiving and interpretation, and enter all charges accurately.
  • Utilize complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation, completing procedures according to protocol.
  • Interact with patients and co-workers with a high level of care, dignity, and respect, working efficiently as part of a team.
  • Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.
