UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Diagnostic Technologist to support our Sports Medicine team in Oakland! What You’ll Do Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using established protocols and independent judgment to produce high-quality results without direct supervision. Identify and prepare patients properly using two patient identifiers and universal protocol to ensure accuracy and safety. Review orders and patient histories to determine the best approach for imaging and document all necessary information in the electronic record. Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. Ensure exam accuracy — properly code, track, archive, and enter charges for all studies performed. Operate advanced imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data according to protocol. Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, explaining procedures and helping them feel comfortable and informed. Collaborate with your team to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care while maintaining dignity, respect, and professionalism. Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025. CPR or BLS Required.
