Our Weekend Program offers a unique opportunity to work dedicated weekend hours while enjoying competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Weekend Program Highlights: Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday, 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Commitment: Work 48 weekends per year, totaling 24 hours per weekend (two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts between Friday 3 p.m. and Monday 7 a.m.) Experience Required: Minimum of 6 months in the field Time Off: Up to 96 hours of combined Paid Time Off (PTO) and Ill Time Off (ITO) annually, allowing for up to 8 weekends off Holiday Coverage: Follows standard departmental expectations Compensation: Weekend rate includes a 15%25 differential based on your current hourly rate Annual Merit Increases: Continue as usual Full-Time Benefits: Includes medical, short- and long-term disability, tuition reimbursement, and PTO accrual Extra Weekday Shifts: Optional, paid at your regular weekday rate (does not replace weekend hours) Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 for eligible external candidates with a two-year commitment. Your Role: Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist You’ll perform imaging procedures independently, using your expertise and judgment to deliver high-quality diagnostic care. Responsibilities include: Properly identifying patients and following universal protocol Reviewing patient history and applying departmental protocols Administering contrast per physician orders Ensuring accurate coding, archiving, and charge entry for all exams Operating complex imaging equipment and adjusting protocols as needed Communicating clearly and compassionately with patients Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient patient care If you're ready to take the next step in your career with a stable weekend schedule and full-time benefits, we’d love to hear from you! Education: Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or Verification of program completion and scheduled graduation date from an ARRT-approved school Note: Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision of an ARRT-certified Diagnostic Technologist until degree verification is complete. Technologists may not work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT Certification: Registry-eligible as a Radiologic Technologist Must obtain Radiography Registry within: 6 months of hire date (for hires on or after January 1, 2025) 12 months of hire/transfer date (for hires prior to January 1, 2025) Technologists may not work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained For positions in New York State, certification from ARRT or NMTCB and licensure through the New York State Department of Health is required CPR/BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required Must meet AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire Clearances: Act 31 – Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal) Act 33 – Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (with renewal) Act 34 – Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check (with renewal) Act 73 – FBI Fingerprint Clearance (with renewal) UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
