Description:
Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $40.83/Hr. - CAD $50.94/Hr.
Summary:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Diagnostic Vascular Technologist performs and assesses non-invasive diagnostic tests on the vascular system utilizing duplex ultrasound, continuous wave Doppler and/or plethysmography equipment. Your duties will include:
- Receive and prepare patients for testing
- Evaluate accuracy of diagnoses
- Perform quality control duties
- Participate in inter-disciplinary team meetings and local committees
- Enter procedure data into the computerized system
- Provide instruction regarding procedures, equipment, and techniques to staff trainees, student technologists, and other staff as required
What You Bring:
Education:
- Graduation from a recognized program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- One year of recent related experience
- Current certification with Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) for the assigned practice area (e.g., vascular)
- Current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) for the assigned area (e.g., vascular)
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with others effectively
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in operating related equipment and systems
- Aptitude for critical thinking to resolve problems
- Up-to-date knowledge of vascular ultrasound procedures and technologies
- Capability to provide instruction when needed
