Description

Primary purpose of position The Diesel Fitter is to ensure safety of operation and a return on capital investment. The key outcomes include carrying out repairs, maintenance and installations to the Port’s equipment and services. The Diesel Fitter will support the Manager Maintenance and Leading Hand with positive input and solving job problems that arise day-to-day.

Responsibilities

The Diesel Fitter is primarily responsible for ensuring operational safety and maximizing return on capital investment through the execution of repairs, maintenance, and installations on the Port’s equipment and services. This role involves actively supporting the Maintenance Manager and Leading Hand by providing positive input and resolving daily job-related problems.
