Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. * Perform diagnostic tests on garbage trucks and other diesel-powered equipment to identify issues * Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations * Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and braking systems * Use hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment to perform repairs * Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs. * Maintain detailed records of all services and repairs performed * Ensure all vehicles are compliant with DOT regulations, including brake maintenance and inspections * Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times What We’re Looking For: * Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the waste management industry * ASE Certification preferred * Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems * Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Shifts may vary, 40+ hours per week (overtime available) #CoastalWasteCareers This is a 2nd shift position: 4:30pm - 1am.
