Shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am As a diesel mechanic, you’ll be responsible for keeping our truck and trailer fleet safe, operational, and up to DOT regulations. Doing this requires proper preventive maintenance, minor, and major repairs to our diesel trucks, pull behind trailers, and any other equipment that may need service. Job Responsibilities Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts. Running diagnostic test on diesel engines and analyzing results for repair. Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and exhausts. Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown. Performing preventative maintenance of SSI vehicles. Vehicle wiring and reading wiring schematics. Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance. Deliver, pick up, and repair vehicles from our at satellite branches. Maintaining records of parts inventory and other serviced vehicles. Rebuild pumps and vacuum systems. Welding and fabrication as needed. Requirements 3 years diesel mechanic experience, preferred Experience with diagnostic software with computer Knowledge of diesel engine components Insurable driving record Must own full set of mechanic tools Troubleshooting skills Organizational and Multitasking skills Proficiency with DPF, EGR and DEF, preferred
