Description

Diesel Mechanic Chesapeake, VA Full- time, weekly pay, 7am-4pm $20- $30 per hour based on exp. Givens is Driven To Deliver - both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957 Givens has provided customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace. We are currently seeking a Class A Mechanic to help maintain our fleet of tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment. Responsibilities * Diagnose and repair equipment to include heavy duty trucks, trailers, electric forklifts, and other equipment * Conduct routine maintenance work on equipment * Ability to complete paperwork for routine maintenance and requesting parts * Diagnose and repair ABS brake systems * Other duties as assigned Requirements * Must pass drug screening * High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship in automotive is preferred * Associates degree is a plus * Must have a valid driver's license * State inspectors license a plus * Experience in software such as Davie 4, Service Ranger, ESA, Diagnostic 8, Cummins a plus * Must be computer literate and have the ability to be trained on software systems * Ability to use shop tools to include hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools * Frequently lift and move up to 100lbs * Ability to stand, walk, and use hands with no physical impairment that might restrict working around on top of or under equipment Benefits * Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) * Retirement Plan (401k with Company Match) * Life Insurance (Basic and Voluntary) * Paid Time Off * 10 Paid Holidays Per Year * Short Term & Long Term Disability
