Description POSITION SUMMARY: The main responsibility of the Fleet Technician is to maintain, repair and perform preventative maintenance on Dem-Con’s fleet of trucks and other assets as assigned. In addition, the position will work with the lead technician/s to diagnose and repair a variety of diesel trucks and equipment. The position will also complete dumpster repair and fabrication projects as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform routine inspections of trucks and equipment and complete preventative maintenance as scheduled/needed. Diagnose and perform maintenance on Trucks, Trailers, and heavy equipment such as Loaders, Skid Steers and Forklifts. Communicate with leadership and operations to appropriately schedule any repairs, services and/or downtime of specific trucks or equipment. Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication repair service on Trucks, Trailers, Dumpsters, or other fabrication projects as assigned. Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns. Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles and documenting parts usage. Perform all work safely and in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards Ensure maintenance shop is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Requirements Required Qualifications: Previous experience in preventative maintenance or related mechanical skills including: Chassis component repair and maintenance. Suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. Ability to Identify the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools. Hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems. Welding, cutting and fabricating skills. Engine repair and maintenance. Required Licenses/Certifications: Certified DOT Inspector Must possess Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
