JOB OVERVIEW

Compensation: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to become part of our team. The preferred candidate will possess significant experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines as well as heavy machinery. This position necessitates a robust mechanical knowledge, skillfulness with hand and power tools, and the capability to work on diverse types of equipment such as trucks, excavators, and agricultural machinery. The Diesel Mechanic will be tasked with ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are maintained to the utmost standards of safety and performance.
Duties
Conduct diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including those from Caterpillar and other manufacturers.
Perform routine maintenance on various vehicles, including tractor-trailers, forklifts, and heavy machinery.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to hydraulics, air brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
Use schematics to diagnose problems with electrical systems and carry out necessary repairs.
Carry out fabrication tasks as required for custom repairs or modifications.
Keep precise records of repairs and maintenance conducted on vehicles and equipment.
Deliver outstanding customer service by effectively communicating with clients about their vehicle requirements.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations while executing all tasks.
Assist in the training of junior mechanics or service technicians as needed.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a comparable role within automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance.
Experience in a dealership setting is preferred but not essential.
Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and methodologies.
Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines, agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy equipment operation.
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and performing assembly tasks.
Capability to safely lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as required by job responsibilities.
Experience in troubleshooting electrical systems is advantageous.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair best practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
