Diesel Mechanic- Class A Chesapeake, VA Full- time, 7am-4pm  Givens – Driven To Deliver Givens is Driven To Deliver — both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957, Givens has provided customers a single-source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating, and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace. We are currently seeking a Class A Diesel Mechanic to help maintain our fleet of tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment. This is a senior-level technician role responsible for advanced diagnostics, major repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure maximum fleet uptime. Responsibilities * Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers, electric forklifts, and related equipment * Perform advanced troubleshooting on diesel engines, electrical systems, and ABS brake systems * Conduct routine preventative maintenance and inspections * Complete accurate maintenance documentation and parts requests * Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify mechanical issues * Support shop efficiency and equipment readiness * Mentor or assist junior technicians as needed Requirements * Minimum 2+ years experience as a Class A Mechanic working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, or diagnostic and troubleshooting skills preferred * Experience with software such as Davie 4, Service Ranger, ESA, Diagnostic 8, Cummins is a plus * High school diploma preferred; vocational certification or apprenticeship strongly preferred * Associate degree is a plus * Valid driver’s license required * State Inspector license a plus * Must be computer literate and able to learn new systems * Ability to safely use hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools * Ability to frequently lift and move up to 100 lbs * Must be able to stand, walk, and work around, on top of, or under equipment * Team-oriented with a strong can-do attitude and willingness to learn Compensation & Benefits * +$2.00/hour with CDL * +$0.50/hour with State Inspector Certification Benefits include: * Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) * 401(k) with Company Match * Life Insurance (Basic and Voluntary) * Paid Time Off * 10 Paid Holidays Per Year * Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
