Description
Seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Middletown, DE. Pay: $38 - $45 per hour (based on experience) + Benefits! Responsibilities: • Inspect trucks, trailers, and related systems to identify issues • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems • Repair or replace defective parts (engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions) • Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks) • Test drive vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs • Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues • Maintain detailed service records and reports • Follow safety standards and regulations (e.g., DOT compliance) Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED (required) • Technical training in diesel mechanics (preferred) • Certification such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) is a plus • 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair • CDL is preferred or able to be obtained Required Skills • Extremely strong ability to diagnose • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail • Basic computer skills (for diagnostics and reporting) • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements • Ability to lift heavy parts (50+ lbs) • Stand, kneel, and work in tight spaces • Work in shop environments If you are interested in learning more about this role, please submit your resume for immediate consideration!
