Description This position is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on diesel and non-diesel vehicles and heavy equipment to sound, safe, and reliable performance of the vehicle and/or equipment. Essential Functions: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture while upholding the company’s core values. Changes and repairs tires per manufacturer specifications. Performs oil and filter services on automobiles, concrete trucks, tractor trailers, front end loaders, and various types of equipment. Diagnoses and repairs minor electrical issues of equipment lights, switches, etc. on affected trucks and equipment. Assists Diesel Technicians II and III with more advanced repairs. Uses pressure washer to maintain cleanliness of the equipment. Maintains clean and organized work area. Follows repair order directions. Completes write up and provide accurate description or repairs made and parts utilized in a timely manner. Works closely with Lead Diesel Technician to maintain positive workflow throughout the Shop. Follows company-assigned safety policies and procedures without exception. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Requirements: Valid Driver’s License required. High School Diploma/GED preferred. Auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school preferred or minimum of 2 years’ experience performing maintenance or mechanical ability. ASE Certifications preferred. Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B preferred. Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly. Must provide own hand tools & toolbox. Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles. Ability to read schematics and familiarity with the process. Must have the willingness to learn. Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email. Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. from floor to waist height. Ability to carry minimum of 50 lbs. over a 5-foot span. Ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs. across a 10-foot span. Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. from waist to shoulder. Use their hands to manage, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to bend or twist body without restriction. Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments. EOE
