Become the Diet Technician you always wanted to be Conducts nutrition reviews and collects information for patient nutritional assessments. Conducts patient interviews to obtain food preferences and diet histories. Provides diet education to patients, family members and other caregivers. Completes patient follow-ups as directed by the Registered Dietitian. Implements nutritional care plans, adapts menus, and assists patients with their nutritional needs. Conducts in-service education with staff and other disciplines as needed. Modifies and monitors patient menus. Meets with Registered Dietitian on a regular basis. Qualifications Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) as a DTR (Dietetic Technician, Registered)/NDTR (Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered). Food Handler/Safety permit as required by local regulations. Associate’s degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of federal, state, local, JCAHO and other applicable regulations. Minimum one year experience as a Diet Technician preferred.
