Reporting to the Food Service Manager or designate, the Diet Technician/Supervisor utilizes a variety of current computerized applications, including diet order management programs, a computerized client care information system as well as current word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications, to receive, process and interpret diet orders, and is responsible for meeting time sensitive diet administration duties, ensuring nutrition and diet standards are met. Performs various related administrative duties and may perform supervisory duties as required for the site. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Eligibility for certification with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) plus one year’s recent, related experience. Food Safe Certificate 1.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.• Ability to deal with others effectively.• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.• Ability to operate related equipment.• Ability to organize work.• Ability to supervise.• Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. • Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
