JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This position is essential in creating a positive dining experience for our residents.

EXPERIENCE

  • Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
  • Meet onboarding requirements.
  • Current first aid and CPR certification.
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Documentation required for employment also includes Immunization record, TB testing and medical.
    Job Types: Part-time, Casual
    Pay: $16.88 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times. Does not share resident specific information with anyone outside of the circle of care. Only shares information pertinent in the provision of care.
  • Offers warm and welcoming service to residents and guests.
  • Understands and implements infection control practices.
  • Setting up, preparing, serving, and associated cleanup required for meal service.
  • Assisting with preparing and serving beverages, salads, desserts, and other food items within scope.
  • Plating and serving of entrees.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, setting up of dining room.Providing tray service to rooms, as required. Retrieves tray and dishes upon meal completion.
  • Washing kitchenwares, glassware, cutlery, dishwares.Cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing kitchen.
  • Maintains a caring and interested attitude when interacting with residnets and their families.
  • Encourages residents to attend Recreational Offerings.
  • To follow and act in accordance with provincial health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures as outlined by Cambridge Estates
  • Reports and Occupational Health and Safety Hazards directly to Executive Chef or his designate.
  • Completes other tasks, as requested, to support the overall functioning of department.
