General Purpose of Job: To perform a variety of patient food service by preparing patient trays and nourishment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Adheres to hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines. Prepares special foods for regular and therapeutic diets as required by following individual patient menus. Prepares nourishment for patients as designated on nourishment sheet. Assembles prepared food on patient trays during tray line mealtimes Ensure all food items for meals and nourishments are prepared according to menu and delivered at appropriate times. Delivers carts to patient floors as specified. Prepares all “early” and “late” trays as required. Take inventory of all nourishment food items kept in Nourishment Kitchens on each patient floor. Cleans refrigerators in Diet Kitchen on a daily basis, removing outdated items and items not needed for the day’s menu. Replenishes beverages and foods needed on tray line. Performs special cleaning duties as scheduled. Attends all department and hospital in-services as assigned. Follows department policies and procedures for age appropriate diets and preparation of food items for patient tray line. Completes special cleaning assignments. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food Handlers Permit Until all children are well.
