Pomperaug Woods is recruiting for a hospitality focused Diet Aide to join our team!    Are you passionate about delivering high quality service? Do you love working with the elderly community? The Dietary Aide at Pomperaug Woods is responsible for preparing and serving meals to Health Center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.       Essential Job Duties: *  Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required. *  Serves meals in our Health Center. *  Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal. Sets up tables after meals for next meal time.  *  Transports hot and cold foods to and from the Health Center. *  Transports all required non food items to and from the Health Center. *  Obtains food and supplies necessary to stock the Health Center dining area.  * Maintains storage of these items as per department standards.   QUALIFICATIONS: *  Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions. *  Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred. * Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards. *  Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Responsibilities
The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals to Health Center residents strictly following posted therapeutic diet menus, including preparing specialized salads and desserts.
