Position Title: Dietary Aide Hourly: $12-$14 Schedule: 6:00 am-7:00 pm (2:00-3:30 pm lunch break) > Bi-Weekly Rotation > > Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat. > > Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thurs. Who you are: * Has effective communication skills, both oral and written * High school diploma/GED preferred * Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent Dietary Aide experience * Able to see, hear, and communicate clearly * Able to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers * Has empathy for the elderly * Able to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards * Able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday * Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently * Able to push and pull tray/bus/transport carts weighing up to 150 lbs. independently * Able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday * May be exposed to extreme temperatures from the ovens and freezers * May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals Summary: The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus. Job Expectations: * Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization * Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times * Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure * Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency * Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production * Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary * Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment * Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy * Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required * Serves meals in the health center * Sets up kitchenette(s) in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal * Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center * Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center * Documents food temperatures on a regular basis; adjusting temperatures if necessary * Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition. * Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor * Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned * Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Hospitality Focus: Carillon Senior Living fully embraces a culture of hospitality. Responsibilities
