This role helps ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment while delivering a positive experience for customers.   This position works Monday–Friday, starting time is 7 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays. The starting wage is $16 per hour. ---------------------------------------- Key Responsibilities * Assist with basic food preparation and cooking tasks following established recipes and food safety guidelines * Receive, store, and organize kitchen inventory and supplies * Operate cash registers, process payments, and reconcile cash drawers * Support food service setup, including steam tables and salad bars, and assist with service and cleanup * Clean and sanitize tables, workstations, and kitchen equipment * Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to sanitation and safety standards * Prepare items and workstations for the next day’s operations * Always provide courteous and professional customer service * Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments * Perform other duties as assigned   Qualifications * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to interact with customers, coworkers, and supervisors * Basic math skills, including the ability to handle cash transactions, make changes, and reconcile a cash drawer accurately * Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor and a willingness to assist others * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail * Willingness to learn new tasks, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities * Ability to communicate and collaborate with coworkers and other departments in a professional and respectful manner * Strong organizational and time management skills to complete tasks within established timelines ---------------------------------------- Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: * Regularly required to stand for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per shift) * Frequently required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead or below waist level * Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis * Ability to push and pull carts, racks, or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds * Frequent use of hands and arms for handling food items, operating kitchen equipment, and performing cleaning tasks * Requires manual dexterity and coordination for food preparation and cash handling * Ability to work in a physically active environment with continuous movement throughout the shift ---------------------------------------- Work Environment * Work is performed in a commercial kitchen and café setting * Regular exposure to heat from ovens, stoves, and hot food surfaces * Exposure to cold environments such as refrigerators and freezers * Frequent exposure to water, cleaning agents, and sanitizing chemicals * Potential for slippery floors and tight working spaces * Moderate noise levels due to kitchen equipment and customer activity * Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, aprons) may be required * Employees are expected to follow all safety and sanitation procedures to minimize risk
