    Dietary Aide - Hope School The Dietary Aide assists in the preparation of all student meals, helps in the preparation of staff meals and meals for special events as directed by the Cook, while ensuring that activity occurs in a safe, sanitary manner, and that menus and dietary guidelines are being followed.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.         Follows sanitation guidelines at all times. 2.         Displays food in an attractive manner. 3.         Insures that 'individual client diets are followed, and appropriate substitutions are available. 4.         Ensures food and beverages are placed on proper carts and labeled correctly. 5.         Uses proper utensils and ensures proper portion sizes are served according to individual client diet plans. 6.         When serving meals have client diet cards and menus present. 7.         Maintains all assigned dietary records and logs.   8.          Shall practice appropriate safety measures (i.e. wearing lifting belt, hand washing) 9.         Performs assigned cleaning tasks. 10.       Attends required training and team meetings 11.       Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported             abuse/neglect of students as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures. 12.       Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be 21 years of age or older 2. Some knowledge of food preparation and of sanitation requirements 3. Able to lift 50 pounds, able to stoop, crouch and grasp 4. Successful background clearance, physical and drug/alcohol screening   PREFERRED OUALIFICATIONS:         1.       Previous dietary experience in a residential care environment
