Job Summary The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.   Key Responsibilities: * Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.  * Serve meals in the health center.  * Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal.  * Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center.  * Transports all required nonfood items to and from the health center.  * Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition.  Other Duties: * Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness. * Maintains safe and sanitary conditions. * Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. * Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: * Must be 16 years or older. * Previous experience in nursing home and/or food service preferred. * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions. * Ability to follow instructions and explain menu items clearly. * Team-oriented, with a focus on resident satisfaction. Physical Requirements Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; lifting weight requirement will not be more than 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
