The Dietary Aide assists in food preparation, food tray preparation and delivery to facility residents; cleans the kitchen and dining area under the supervision of the Dietary Manager or Cook by performing the following duties. Responsibilities · Read production orders on diet cards on trays to determine items to place on tray · Place items such as eating utensils, napkins, and condiments on trays · Prepare food items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and beverages under the supervision of the cook · Place servings in blender to make foods for soft or liquid diets · Apportion and place food servings on plates and trays according to diet list on diet card · Examine filled tray for completeness and quality assurance of food tray and place on cart · Push carts to dining room or halls and serve trays to residents · Collect and stack dirty dishes on cart and return cart to kitchen · Store food and supplies properly · Wash dishes and clean work area, tables, cabinets, and ovens · Collect and place garbage and trash in designated containers · Record amount and type of special food items served to residents Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
