Job Details Job Location: Salemtowne - Winston Salem, NC Position Type: Part Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: Undisclosed Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Health Care Description Job Summary: The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals to residents in our healthcare facility, ensuring that dietary needs are met while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Essential Job Functions: Meal Preparation: Prepares and cooks meals according to the specific dietary requirements and preferences of residents. This includes the following recipes and adhering to safety and health standards. Food Delivery: Delivers meals to residents, ensuring that food is served at the correct temperature and promptly. Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintains cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Dietary Monitoring: Assists in monitoring residents’ dietary needs and preferences, reporting any changes to the dietitian or healthcare providers. Inventory management: Helps manage food inventory, including stocking supplies and placing orders as needed to ensure adequate food availability. Resident Interaction: Communicates with residents about their dietary needs and preferences, providing information and support regarding nutrition. Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties. Adheres to Salemtowne’s Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns. Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position. Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations. Supports Salemtowne Shines culture and philosophy. Performs other duties as assigned or as may be required to meet emergencies. Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: An understanding of dietary restrictions and special dietary needs is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is important for success in this role. Work Environment: Works in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated kitchen and dining rooms. Possible work hazards include cuts from utensils, burns, falls due to wet floors, quick temperature changes in and out of refrigeration areas, and around steam tables. Previous experience in healthcare or food service settings is preferred.
