Haro Park Centre, located in Vancouver’s West End and is a community of care with 218 residents living in a mixed setting of Independent Suites, Assisted Living and Residential Care. We are looking for casual and temporary part-time dietary aides to join our Culinary Services Team. We are looking for people who have a strong desire and ability to provide high quality services in our department and for our residents living in our complex care and assisted living home.

DESCRIPTION:

Our Dietary aides perform duties related to food and meal service operations, such as:
· Preparation, distribution and serving of meals/snacks/catering to residents/ clients/guests
· Dining room/tray setup and cleanup
· Dish/pot/utensils/equipment washing and cleaning of food service and related areas
· Putting away and rotation of food and supplies.
All duties were completed using safe food handling and sanitation techniques.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Candidates must demonstrate:
· An ability for developing and maintaining respectful and effective working relationships with co-workers and others.
· Able to read and communicate well in English with staff, residents, volunteers and guests.
· Able to communicate tactfully and maturely when working with residents, staff, volunteers and guests.
· Must be in good health and physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
· Able to work in a warm, fast-paced and noisy environment.
· Able to learn new skills and procedures.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

· Grade 10 or equivalent general education.
· Current Food Safe - Level 1 certificate. Please provide expiry date.
· Experience working in an institutional kitchen preferred
