Reporting to the Food Service Manager the Dietary Aide plays a pivotal role in enriching the lives of residents by providing nutritious and delicious meals, that are prepared and served with love. This is a Temporary Full Time role with a (06:00-13:30) or (14:30- 20:00) schedule including a rotational weekend schedule, though extended hours may be required from time to time. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring high attention to detail and strong time management skills. The role includes regular use of computer systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling Assisting cooks in basic food preparation Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols Serving meals according to Resident diet orders Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room Knowledge and Skills Required: Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrated ability to be a team player A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of hire date.
