DIETARY AIDE  POSITION SUMMARY The Dietary Aide assists with the service and delivery of food trays in designated areas, cleaning of the kitchen per established protocols, and proper washing and cleaning of food utensils and dishes.   Provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. while ensuring recipe accuracy, portion control, food safety, and presentation standards. Works as part of the culinary team to execute menus and support daily kitchen operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Meal Service & Food Preparation * Prepare and portion food items according to standardized recipes and diet orders * Assemble meal trays accurately based on therapeutic diet requirements * Deliver and collect meal trays in a timely manner * Assist residents/patients with beverage service and basic meal setup as needed * Ensure food is served at appropriate temperatures Sanitation & Safety * Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using proper sanitation procedures * Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, food prep areas, and dining spaces * Follow infection control policies and hand hygiene standards * Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean work environment * Comply with local, state, and federal health regulations Customer Service * Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, families, and staff * Respond to special requests within dietary guidelines * Communicate concerns to direct supervisor Inventory & Stocking * Stock food supplies, condiments, and service areas * Rotate food items using FIFO (First In, First Out) method * Report low inventory or supply concerns All other duties as assigned SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions * Ability to read diet cards and meal tickets accurately * Strong teamwork and communication skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Previous food service experience preferred * Experience in healthcare or long-term care environment is a plus PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES The following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions and expectations. Responsibilities
