Description DIETARY AIDES - - Applewood, Matteson, IL Generations at Applewood in Matteson, Illinois, has Immediate Openings for Dietary Aides. Position available is Full-time. Rate: $16.00 per hour! Hours are: 1:30p-9:00p - days may vary and will be worked out with the Food Service manager. Every other Weekend is required. We are offering a great opportunity for those who are interested in a culinary career. You'll be a Dietary Aide but learning from a professional chef. You'll be learning by doing multiple functions within our dietary department: prepping, plating, passing trays, dishwashing all the while being mentored by someone with years of culinary experience. Responsibilities of the Dietary Aide: Assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages for residents as assigned Coordinate daily dietary services with the nursing staff Read and interpret Diet Cards Deliver food to residents' rooms Set up/take down dining areas May take inventory of food and supplies Ensure work areas are clean, organized and safe Dishwashing and other tasks as assigned Requirements of the Dietary Aide: Previous dietary experience in a healthcare facility preferred - NOT Fast Food Must be 18 years or older Basic awareness/knowledge of sanitation practices as it relates to food preparation Ability to read, speak and understand English Good verbal and written communication skills Must have compassion and tolerance for older adults Deliver excellent customer service with a smile! Responsibilities
