Weston County Health Services is seeking a Dietary Assistant Manager to play a vital role in supporting our Dietary team and enhancing the patient and resident meal experience. In this dynamic position, you’ll help with meal planning, menu creation, ensuring resident dietary needs are met along with many other meaningful duties. Position Summary Section: As the Assistant Dietary Manager, this position is responsible for assisting the dietary manager creating and implementing nutritionally beneficial and cost-effective meal plans for the residents, patients, and staff of WCHS which includes creating menus, nutritional needs, as well as ordering and maintaining stock. Essential Functions Section:   * Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Weston County Health Services (WCHS).   * Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages following specific guidelines * Serve meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times * Take inventory of kitchen supplies and food items * Clarifies unclear or missing diet orders with nursing staff.  * Assists with room delivery service as needed, including assembling patient trays, loading carts, and delivering meals to patients and residents. * Checks accuracy of meal tray against patient and resident menu selections. * Assists cooks and other staff with dishes as needed throughout shift.  * Utilizes good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with patients, residents, providers, co-workers and other sections in the organization and with other facilities in the community.   * Adheres to daily, weekly, monthly schedule for cleaning food service equipment. * Maintains safe, sanitary conditions in storage areas according to established policy and procedure which includes proper labeling/dating of food and storage of raw meat/poultry.  * Is consistently attentive to customers and provides prompt, courteous service.  Keeps the Dietary Manager informed when problems may interfere with work being completed or customer concerns. * Accommodates changes in workload within the department. Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and work assignment needs.  * Assists with room delivery service as needed, including assembling patient trays, loading carts, and delivering meals to patients and residents. * Maintains a professional, organized and clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards. * Coordinates with medical staff and other departments to ensure efficiency as needed.   * Attends and participates in staff meetings and other assigned meetings.  * Adheres to accreditation and compliance standard guidelines.  * Completes Work Assignments in a timely manner. * Assists visitors with directions whenever requested. * Always introduces self to patients, residents, families, and visitors when appropriate. * Reports safety hazards as appropriate. * Replenishes supplies as needed. * Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and Isolation Precautions. * Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties. * Has the ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision. * Observes safety-precautions. * Has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. * Has the ability to read and understand equipment operation manual. * Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations, and interdepartmental objectives. * Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, trainings, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops; shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education and learning. * Assists in keeping kitchen and other dietary areas clean, organized and well stocked thought shift.  * Keeps all temperature and supplement logs up to date as required.  Supervisory Responsibilities: * Assists Dietary manager with creating menus. * Ensure daily and weekly duties are being completed. * Assist with the creation and leading dietary employee workshops to grow their skills and education. * Provide recurrent training for all dietary employees. * Assist dietary manager with resident meal cards. * Assist dietary manager with covering shifts as needed. * Be available for all scheduled shifts. * Responsible for the direct supervision of all dietary employees.
