Description Position Title: Dietary Cook Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Program Assignment: Addiction Treatment Center; Crisis Stabilization Unit Assignment Location: 3103 N. Michigan, Pittsburg. KS Scheduled Hours: Part-Time Supervised by: Program Coordinator; Chief Program officer of Residential Services Supervises: None Position Description: The incumbent in this position is responsible for all aspects of a small dietary service at A/D Treatment Center, as well as the Crisis Stabilization Unit. This includes the procurement, preparation, storage, delivery, cleanup and all elements associated with providing food to clients of the center. This position purchases all food items and supplies, within a budget and under the direction of the Director of Addiction Services. The Dietary Manager ensures that menus are posted and followed, and they represent meals that meet health standards and dietary standards with respect to content, storage, sanitation and special diet needs of consumers. The Dietary Manager is responsible for the premises of the kitchen, dining room and related activities and shall maintain them in a clean, sanitary, uncluttered and attractive manner. This position ensures that all related equipment is in good working order and arranges for repairs needed. Additionally, this position will work with clientele at WRH in the planning and preparation of meals made from non-processed, fresh ingredients. Requirements Credential and Experience Requirements: · Must be at least 18 years old · A high school diploma or equivalent is required. · Pass TB Screen Test · Pass pre-employment background checks, and State of Kansas Adult/Child · A minimum of two years’ experience as a dietary manager in a residential program is preferred. · Knowledge of Alcohol and Drug and/or Mental Illness preferred. Required Skills/Abilities: Obtain Certification for Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training. MOAB is an in-depth training program that teaches individuals how to recognize, reduce, and manage violent and aggressive behavior. Training provided. MOAB training requires controlled movements, body positioning, and the ability to perform physical holds and restraint techniques. The focus of MOAB training is to use techniques that can be effectively applied by employees of varying physical capabilities while minimizing potential harm to both the individual being restrained and the trained themselves. First Aid CPR Certification. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: · Required to follow dress code policies of any alternative work locations, including but not limited to schools, jails, courts, detention centers, other community partners, etc. · Have knowledge regarding the safe storage of food items. · Have knowledge of the preparation and serving of meals to clients. · Do dietary planning for individual client needs. · Know operation of all types of kitchen equipment. · Have knowledge for maintaining kitchen and premises in a sanitary manner. · Do Menu planning · Participate and lead MHT Groups · Assist MHT Supervisor with Medication Counting, Client UA’s, and New Client Admissions · Thorough understanding of confidentiality regulations. · Filing, maintenance of client records and general office duties · Meal preparation supervision and assignment · Document client’s interactions. · Attending to Client needs · Day to day operation of the food service. · Procurement of food items and supplies. · Menu and meal planning for A/D Treatment Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. · Group style education of WRH clients in the planning and preparation of meals from non-processed, fresh ingredients. · Complete annual trainings. · Meal preparation and delivery for clients. · Storage of all food items and supplies. · Insuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the premises. · Maintenance of the equipment and premises. (Arranges repairs when needed.) · Assisting the Director of Addiction Services in staff and budget reports and requests. Physical Requirements: · Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds occasionally. · Prolonged periods of standing and walking may be required. · Frequently bending, stooping, or kneeling to assist clients or perform tasks. · Ability to reach overhead and handle objects or equipment. · Be able to get on the floor and rise without assistance. · Have full mobility in both arms and shoulders Additional Helpful Qualifications: · Knowledge regarding culturally specific issues and diet. · Knowledge regarding persons with disabilities and diet. · Additional duties as necessary and as assigned by Supervisor.
